Something is in the wind. I cannot put my finger on it, but I know it’s there. Have you felt it? It is like uncertainty about something that is about to happen. It is something profound, something that I know in my knower without being able to pinpoint what “it” is.

I bring this up for two reasons. First, the uncertainty of humanity’s future with global warming, ramped civil unrest, life-altering decisions before the courts, and horrible wars, are enough to set anyone on edge; what I am sensing runs much deeper than that.

Secondly, what I am sensing is the result of a close personal relationship with the godhead. Learning how to come close to God places you in a position to sense or feel the heartbeat of God. What I am sensing is spiritual and will be revealed in the physical world at some point.

This is so important to position Christ-followers to be ready for action. The very first action is prayer. Praying Spirit-led prayers is vital during this stage of development. Spirit-led prayer will accomplish three things. It will release the will of God the Father; it will release the angels of God for spiritual battle, and it will position the Christ-follower to be used by God the Holy Spirit.

I call times like these excitingly scary. The natural, physical part of me is not excited; thus I find it scary. The spiritual, eternal part of me is excited to be involved in the will of the Father on the earth. Since the spirit part of me lives within the physical aspect of me, it is excitingly scary.

The apostle Paul speaks about this in his writings to the Christ-followers in Rome. He calls it a groaning or common calamity shared by all. This reminds me of the aftermath of a natural disaster. Being a native Floridian, I know hurricanes. Everyone in the affected area shares a joint pain of loss and displacement. This is the scary part.

On the other hand, everyone also experiences a sense of hope and community as relief locations spring up, providing food, water, and supplies. This is the exciting part, the two working in tandem.

There is a promise of redemption for creation; this is the exciting part. However, there is a prolonged waiting time, which is the scary part.

Be excited, there is an endgame, and we win!
