Humanity has taken life into its own hands and shut God out at an alarming rate.
A recent pew Research study found that about 64% of the US population identifies as Christian. This figure is down from 90% in the early 1990s. Those who identify as having no religion have grown from 16% in 2007 to 30% just two years ago.
The Godhead is largely silent on the matter because Jesus has already addressed the situation.
Jesus asked, would he even find anyone who believed at his return? He asked this not because he did not know but to emphasize the world population falling away from Christianity.
It is one more sign of his return.
With the heart, man believes
The point must be clarified because of the world in which we live. When the Bible uses the word man, it generally refers to Anthropos, or the species of humanity, both male and female.
Therefore, when the Bible says that with the heart, man believes, it explicitly includes male and female.
The heart generally refers to the soul or the mind, will, and emotions of Anthropos—male and female.
It is a choice based on the following:
*comprehension—that which is understood
**will—the decision to act or respond a certain way
***emotions—that which motivates you to action or inaction
These three components of humanity have been under attack since early civilization. The current philosophy, dubbed wokeism, turn these components inward, focusing on self and what is suitable for you.
The way you:
*comprehend yourself
**decide to act or respond
***the motivation to please yourself
The Apostle Paul addresses these things in his New Testament writings.
1 Don’t be naive. There are difficult times ahead.
2 As the end approaches, people are going to be self-absorbed, money-hungry, self-promoting, stuck-up, profane, contemptuous of parents, crude, coarse,
3 dog-eat-dog, unbending, slanderers, impulsively wild, savage, cynical,
4 treacherous, ruthless, bloated windbags, addicted to lust, and allergic to God.
5 They’ll make a show of religion, but behind the scenes they’re animals. Stay clear of these people.
II Timothy 3, The Message
The apostle warns us to “stay clear of these people.” Such a task is becoming more difficult as “these people” are opening up, willfully getting in your face and space to promote their beliefs.
What do you do?
1—Develop a close personal relationship with the Godhead
2—Comprehend who these people are and understand what they are about
3—use your emotions to stimulate God’s love rather than hatred
God’s love is the key, but understanding these elements of a Christ-centered life will allow love to be active and not passive.
It is time to know Jesus.
A close personal relationship with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit is an unexpected journey of discovery.
